of Aquitaine
Let us take you to different places of interest
each morning and afternoon, to lunch at a hand picked restaurant every day,
returning to relax and enjoy the views as the sun sets over the pool at Domaine
de Fumel.
A typical and varied holiday will include visiting picturesque Medieval stone
villages with interesting historic commentary, guided visits to chateaux and
gardens including the captivating abode and life story of the fascinating
Josephine Baker. We will see a 15th century linen paper mill in action, and
experience a guided tour by the owner of a charming walnut and saffron farm
with the opportunity to taste and buy her goods. We will discover ancient
churches adorned with wonderful frescoes and local markets bursting with produce.
And for a totally unique, fun afternoon at the races, we will take you to
Le Trotting (how very French!) Bets not included! There is also the opportunity
for a wine and food pairing lesson and tasting local wines, informative, useful
and fun. There will be time to visit the lovely town of Bergerac, or just
relax around the property which, in season, abounds with grapes, figs and
hazelnuts.
The lunch venues have been the result of much diligent research, as you might
imagine, we have chosen a good variety from simple and tasty 2 course lunches
to 3 course ‘menu du jour’ in Michelin recommended or starred
restaurants. You should only need a snack or sandwich in the evening when
we get together for a glass or two, some nibbles, chatting and lots of laughter..
We can collect you from Bergerac airport or railway station, stopping for
provisions on the way home.
Transport is provided for all the visits, and entrance fees are included.
Lunches are not included in the price; the menus vary from €14 to €29
per head.
